In this Amope Pedi Perfect Foot File Review, I test the device claiming to be the “best callous remover ever” and give you my take on whether it is worth the money.
I am a bit obsessive over soft feet. Having chronically dry skin, I have to work overtime to keep dry, rough skin at bay.
After sharing my favorite products for best DIY pedicure, I’ve been asked specifically about one of the products, the Amope Pedi Foot File. This post will give my opinion of the foot file, pictured at left, for those who asked and for anyone else who might be interested.
Why I bought it: Several readers recommended this, so I decided to research the product by reading amazon reviews (it has more than 2,000). It is amazon’s best selling product for callous removal, so I thought it would certainly be worth a try.
What it is: It is basically an electronic file that looks like a miniature paint roller. The file spins in one direction and shuts off if too much pressure is applied. It reminds me of a power sander, and when using on particularly dry areas, white “dust” from skin cells can be seen flying. The device sells for less than $40, and refill files are available at most drugstores.
What it does: Using 4 AA batteries, the round file spins electronically, removing dead skin wherever it is applied. The file is like a pumice stone, and not much pressure need be applied to get a good smoothing. In less than 5 minutes, I can get a really good foot exfoliation with barely any exertion.
My take: The file works really well at smoothing feet with little effort, but regular use yields the best results. For less than $40, the device would probably pay for itself after a few months, especially if it decreases the need for salon pedis.
Is it worth it? It depends. If you love exfoliating like I do, and you have the money to spend, this is a great beauty tool. I put this product in the same category as a facial spin brush or electronic toothbrush~wonderful to have and probably worth it if you will use it regularly.
Good Housekeeping magazine’s “Beauty Lab” gave both priducts their seal of approval. I link to both products below, where you can read reviews of both before making a decision whether or not to buy.
If you try the Amope pedi foot file, I’d love to hear what you think. If you know of any other great foot smoothing products, feel free to share in the comments section. Thanks so much for stopping by. Be blessed, and stay savvy!!!
