The Best Toner Ever for Dry Sensitive Skin

My Favorite Toner

I have very dry and sensitive skin, so I am very careful to choose products specifically for my skin type.  Years ago, I made such purchases based on product claims. If a product said “for sensitive skin” or “moisturizing,” then I believed it. But a long bout with atopic dermatitis taught me to be extremely cautious about the products that I slather on my skin every day.

Atopic dermatitis is no fun. My eyelids were inflamed, swollen, itchy, and beet red. In addition to using topical steroids on my lids,  I had to go without eye makeup for nearly six months. It was an exasperating combination of  feeling bad and looking quite strange. (I know some folks must have thought I was wearing red eye shadow!) To make matters worse, several times when I thought that I was cured, one application of eye makeup would re-ignite the whole ordeal. I feared that my eyelids would never be normal again.

Today, all is well, and I am thankful to say that I have not had a recurrence of the atopic dermatitis in three years. Although I never pinpointed the exact culprit, I do believe that a drugstore toner that I used nightly was part of what caused the dermatitis.  I now carefully research any and all cosmetics and skin care products, and I always turn to Beautypedia Reviews for trusted information.

Since toner is so important for my sensitive skin, I carefully researched until I found one that I love. After trying multiple products listed as “best toners” on Beautypedia Reviews, I discovered my personal favorite,  Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Enriched Calming Toner.  Made for normal/dry/very dry skin, it is the best toner I have ever used! I cannot go to bed at night without swiping a toner-soaked cotton ball over my face. No matter how well I cleanse, this toner always removes some bit of makeup that I left behind. Not only does it make my face feel hydrated and cool, but it also leaves my face perfectly clean for applying retinoid (Retin-A).  This toner is also hydrating and gentle. Although I don’t recommend getting toner in your eyes, I have gotten this one in mine, and it didn’t burn or sting.

Right now, all Paula’s Choice cleansers and toners are 25% off, and orders of $50 or more are shipped free.  If you are in the market for new cleansers or toner, this is a perfect time to try this wonderful brand.  Even without the discount,  I consider Paula’s Choice products very reasonably priced. Go here to look at the different products and take advantage of the sale.
