If you’ve been searching for the perfect eyelid and brow, my fave products might be just what you are looking for to create your own best look!
In my quest for the perfect eyelid and brow, my fave products, listed below, are what I am using and loving right now.
At my age (51), perfect is a relative term:-). But aging eyelids can still look good, with a bit of work and the right tools and products.
Below, I’ll share my favorite eyeshadow palette for my favorite eyelid look. Then I’ll share what I use to make the rest of my eyes (brows and lashes) look their best.
Most of these items (except the concelear) can be purchased at Sephora, Ulta, or department stores.
The eyelid palette colors are all from Mac cosmetics, which are very reasonably priced and available at Mac stores, Belk, Macy’s and other department store outlets. Mac eyecolors are wonderfully pigmented and rich and can be blended to create a great look that will last most of the day (and often into the night).
My friend Judy Michel shared this eye look with me. It is so striking, perfect and classy. It looks way better on her eyes than on mine, but I only have a photo of the look on my lids (photo creds to the hubs:-).
If you are fair skinned and like softer tones of pink and peach, this will work for you. Even though most of the colors are labeled “pink,” they can blend well with peachy pink and gold tones as well.
Here’s the lineup with step by step on how to apply.
Step 1: Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot in “Perky”~apply this creamy pink color over the entire lid, using a concealer brush for best results (I love the It Cosmetics concealer brush).
Step 2: Mac Eye Shadow in “Expensive Pink”~apply this color to the lid only.
Step 3: Mac Mineralize Eyeshadow x 4 in “A Glimmer of Gold”~apply the smoky charcoal color above the crease of the eye. Blend with a blending brush and reapply if needed to get a definite line of color. Reapply the expensive pink on lid if needed.
Step 4: Mac Mineralize “A Glimmer of Gold”~ Apply the lightest color in the palette (a soft champagne) directly underneath the brow.
Here are the other products I use to complete my eye look:
Benefit Gimme Brow: I lOVE this product! It has brow color (I use the lightest) on a mascara type wand. A few upward swipes of both brows makes them darker and fuller.
NYX Eyebrow Shaper: This wax pencil is a must-have for me. I use it to keep my brows in place. I swipe it on the brows and brush them afterward with a brow brush. The wax is like pomade that keeps the hairs in place.
The Balm Time Balm Concealer. I love this concelear and use the “light” (not light-medium, just “light”). First, I put this under my eyes to conceal dark circles. Second, I use this on my lid as a base before I put any other product on my eyes. It is a perfect foundation for any eyeshadow. I’ve tried to find a product that compares to this concealer but none exists (in my opinion). It is a pain that stores stopped carrying The Balm products, but I buy here on amazon.
Urban Decay “Perversion” mascara~this is the best mascara I’ve found for wimpy lashes like mine. Mac Haute & Naughty mascara is a close second.
If you try this look or any of my fave products, please let me hear how you like them! If you have a great color combo or eye palette, please share with us in the comments!! As always, thanks so much for stopping by. Be blessed, and stay savvy!!!
