With holidays approaching, this list of “best gifts for dogs 2015” can help you choose the perfect present for your furry friend.
Since holidays are approaching, I decided to share some of Cam’s (and my) favorite things. Everything on the list is something that we own and have tested and approved.
This Kirkland memory foam dog bed from Costco is truly the bomb. Cam loves it and lays in it all the time. It is his safe and cozy place and where I always look if I can’t find him.
This bed is sold at Costco for $42, and it has been worth every penny. I’ve gone through several beds, and this is the best one I’ve ever found. It has thick memory foam and a sturdy bolster that Cam loves to use as a pillow. When we travel, we carry the bed for Cam and often find that his sister will join him (see photo below:-).
This Pet ID Tag is fully customizable to contain all the information needed in case Cam were to get lost. Tags that look just like this at some other pet stores cost twice as much, so this amazon version is a deal.
The tag is less than $4.00, so I ordered several extras. I have one on order now that actually has Cam’s PetLink microchip number on the back. In most cases, the owner’s phone number is enough to get a dog safely returned, but in case of widespread cellular outage, a microchip number might save the day.
This SpotLit LED light collar attachment gives me peace of mind when I let Cam out at night. Were he ever to decide to leave the yard, I could easily spot him with this light turned on. It can be set to steady or to flashing, and the glow is very bright. I bought Cam a blue light to coordinate with his game day collar. Cam’s BFF Bo Hewitt sports the red version….
This Zymox dog breath freshener is such a fave of mine that I raved about it in this blog post. I spritz a few sprays of this in Cam’s mouth most every day, and he has NO bad breath at all! His previously bad breath drove me to researching products, and thankfully I found one that really works.
(At my vet’s recommendation, I also supplement this spray with an oral solution that wipes onto Cam’s teeth with a cotton ball. It has “CET Solution” written on the bottle, and it is primarily to prevent periodontal disease. I do this once a week.)
To keep my Cam hydrated on long walks, especially on hot days, I carry this Gulpy water dispenser.. It has a built in water bowl that folds out whenever pooch needs a drink. Whenever we travel, I carry this bottle full of water and keep it with a bag of treats so that Cam can have snacks and a drink every time we stop.
This Benebone bacon flavored wishbone chew toy is a hit at our house. It is the #1 seller of dog bones on amazon. I bought this for Cam hoping that he would like it as well as Buddy Sticks which are expensive and don’t last long. He LOVED the Benebone, and when he isn’t chewing on it, we play toss, fetch and tug of war. The wishbone shape is great:-)
I hope this list helps you find something special for your canine companion! If you have some favorites to share, please let us hear from you in the comments! As always, thanks so much for stopping by. Be blessed, and stay savvy!!!
