What is the green sauce at Chuy’s?

Chuy’s famous green sauce is a deluxe tomatillo sauce with sour cream, fresh herbs, cilantro & spices. This delicious dip gets its green color from both the tomatillos and the fresh cilantro.

Is Chuy’s Jalapeño dip spicy?

Though this dip has jalapeños in it, it is not super spicy but definitely has a kick. If you want it to be spicier than normal, you can add extra jalapenos into this dip by going from ¼ cup of pickled jalapeños to ½ cup pickled jalapeños. If you are super sensitive to spicy foods, I would say cut down the jalapeños even more or omit them altogether. Though I highly recommend keeping the jalapeños in this dip, it is still delicious without them!

Can you taste the mayonnaise in this Jalapeño dip?

Not at all! All of the flavors in this dip make the mayonnaise totally undetectable! As for what mayonnaise I use, I use avocado mayo and you can’t tell any difference. It is delicious and you will love it in this jalapeño dip.

This copycat recipe is the best (in my opinion).

When Chuy’s creamy jalapeño dip became all the rage, copycat recipes were showing up everywhere. After trying several recipes brought to parties or church “game nights,” I was not impressed. The biggest problem for me was the overt taste of mayonnaise. I began to experiment and finally came up with this recipe. This recipe does have mayonnaise, but you can’t really taste it because of the fresh flavors from the tomatillo salsa and fresh cilantro. You’ll love this delicious dip that is tangy, bright, and has a kick!

How to measure Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix.

There isn’t much in life that ranch dressing doesn’t make better; this dip is no exception. The Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix is so popular and used for so many recipes, it is now sold in large spice containers at most grocery stores. If you can only find the dressing packets, here is a tip. One packet of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix + 4 tablespoons of mix.  If you make this recipe with the packets, you’ll use one and a half packets. But you can save the half packet for later. Trust me; you’ll be making this dip often.

How to make the Chuy’s Creamy Jalapeño Dip Ahead

I make this dip at least a few hours ahead. The flavors need time to blend and develop. You don’t need to chop anything, as the food processor will take care of this. Note: The dip will thicken as it sits in the fridge. For best consistency, let the dip sit at room temperature for half an hour before serving.

How long will Chuy’s Jalapeño Dip last in the fridge?

You can keep this dip in the fridge for up to five days. Make sure to keep it in an airtight container and it should be good for about five days. This dip is served cold so it is perfect to just pop it out of the fridge and immediately serve. It also makes it super easy to prepare beforehand when you don’t need to alter anything after removing it from the fridge.
