I’ve rounded up some fabulous fall shoe trends for over 40’s chic women who want to stay in style, are willing to try an occasional trend, and who ALWAYS insist on comfy:-)
Hello savvy friends!!! Well, Fall is finally in the air here in Birmingham, and it feels wonderful, but all of us here and elsewhere have heavy hearts for those in Houston and now in Florida. Blogs about food, fashion, etc….seem so trivial. We do have heavy hearts for our friends who are hurting or displaced. We all have our ways we are helping and will continue to help. And most definitely, our prayers will be without ceasing.
As for this post, I honestly meant to get it out earlier. Folks are buying Fall shoes like crazy, as evidenced by some popular styles already being sold out or in limited stock.
My list includes shoes that I have bought or tried, that my friends have bought and recommended, or that I plan to try. I’ve included transitional, classic, and a few trendy. Here are a few tips I’ve gathered along the way. Here’s the easiest way to shop the post.
- Link to individual shoes within the post.
- Link to images of shoes below each category. Find the pic, click it, and it will take you to where to buy.
So….here’s the list! I hope you find something that you love, that looks great, and that keeps your feet feeling FAB!!! As always, thanks so much for stopping by. Be blessed, and stay savvy!!
Wedges & Booties
Ghillie lacing is the trend. Ghillie is a style that laces at the top and has no tongue. It is everywhere this Fall!!
Donald J. Pliner’s Kleo ankle cuff mule is open toe, elastisized ankle cuff and a 3″ block heel.
This Fly London Lace-Up Wedge is adorable and super comfy. My daughter has these, and they look great with most any outfit.
Fly London’s Yama Bootie is the boot version of my daughter’s wedge. LOVE the lug sole and lace up back. #ontrendforfall
The Chocolat Blu Peep Toe Platform bootie is new (so not on sale) but has the stylish CB look but with all-day comfort design.
This Via Spiga Fabrizie in suede is an open toe bootie with a moderate heel (and 60% off).
It is this Chocolat Blu that made CB so popular (at least in my circles). This minimalist look is sophisticated but trendy, and it is 100% comfy. It has a really unique look that folks love; I get complements every time I wear these. I have black but just ordered taupe. Last year this style sold out everywhere (I called the company:-), so if you like~buy soon.
This Frye Gabby is one of my fave Fall looks and is so versatile.
This American Rag Ghillie sandal has the on trend look at a fraction of the Frye price (and gets rave reviews).
White boots are in; you’ve seen them, I’m sure. I inlcuded one pair, but everything else is more classic.
The Born Gallinara over-the-knee boot gets great user reviews for comfort and cuteness. Love the distressed grey suede.
Franco Sarto’s Korrine over the knee boot has a full side zipper for easy on & off. The look is clean and classic; love the wrapped heel.
Donald J. Pliner’s Lark is another great tall boot with a wedge heel and the classic DJP strech fabric.
This Seia over-the-knee by DJP is a home run. Storm (grey) suede. Round toe. Partial side zip. Ghillie lacing in back.
Beaded, buckled, and bedecked is trending, and you’ll see Ghillie laces on many flats as well.
Target’s Ghillie lace up pointy toe ballet flats are style statement shoes under $25. For occasional wear, you can’t beat the price.
Banana Republic’s Leopard Print Haircalf have a triple bow detail and memory foam insoles.
For “no bow” gals, Banana R’s spotted haircalf flat has a classic flat look, ties at the ankle, and has comfort design.
How fab is this snakeskin mule with ankle wrap laces? The M4D3 Della is 33% off and on its way to my front door:-)
Target’s Who What Wear Snakeskin Mule with Buckle is a great look I’ve seen on lots of fashion blogs lately.
