My Favorite Things Right Now for Fall 2020

These are a few of my favorite things right now for Fall 2020, from food, recipes, clothing, and my favorite purchase of the entire year!!!

Some favorite Fall food + recipes.

A perfect charcuterie board.  My friend Marie Marino shares exactly how to make her fabulous charcuterie board pictured below.  She explains how in this podcast and shares her shopping list (cheeses, meats, etc…) in this blog post.

How to Make This Fab Charcuterie Board (Step By Step)
Marie Marino’s Go-To Charcuterie Board

Y’all, I cannot tell you what a GIFT it is to have someone hand you a shopping list of exactly what to buy for a perfect charcuterie!!!  When I try to figure out all the meats, cheeses, nuts, and extras for a board, it makes my head explode. Thanks to Marie, that work is done!!! She has given us the roadmap to create the beautiful board above~with zero thought put into it. Thank you, Marie!!!

Party meatballs.

For small groups, parties or tailgates, these apricot glazed party meatballs are a sure fit hit. They are hearty enough for men, but women love them too. Go to this post for the recipe.

Pumpkin Bread. You can find the recipe for my absolute favorite pumpkin bread here in this post.  This is my mom’s recipe, and I’ve made it for decades. I personally think it is the best. The crust sets it apart. It bakes up dense and sweet with a crumbly texture. It reminds me of a cookie. This pumpkin bread is so easy to make. Best of all, it makes two loaves. Eat one~give one away, or put one in the freezer for later.

Pumpkin Roll (or Roulade).  If you love the flavors of pumpkin and cream cheese frosting, you absolutely must try this easy and delicious pumpkin roll. Not only is this delicious, but it is also beautiful. The spirals of cake wrapped around the creamy filling are so pretty on a dessert plate. If you think this is hard to make, think again. It is super easy, especially with my secret trick to rolling the cake without breaking it. (No towel needed:-)

Skillet Apple Crisp a La Mode I love skillet desserts, especially Mimi’s Famous blackberry cobbler. For Fall, I love making anything with apples. You can get the recipe for my yummy skillet apple crisp here on this blog. You will not believe how easy it is, and it is SO yummy. Serve in individual bowls topped with ice cream for the perfect ending to any meal.

Oven Baked Okra. O.K. I know this is not really a Fall food. But since I have had myriad requests on my instagram to share this, I thought I would share with my blog family:-). It isn’t a recipe; it is a technique. But when I tell you we eat this at least 3 nights a week, I am not kidding. It is baked okra that tastes better than fried. Best of all, okra is SUPER healthy, as is EVOO (which is used in my technique). Check it out below.

Some favorite Fall Looks.

I have much of what is listed below on its way to my front door. Most every store linked to below is having a Labor Day sale of some sort. Now is a perfect time to get great looks for next Spring at a great price.

My favorite purchase of 2020.

I bought a pellet grill and my cooking life will never be the same. If you want to have the best BBQ and smoked meats with NO babysitting a Big Green Egg or charcoal grill, I highly recommend a pellet grill. You plug it in outdoors, use wood pellets, and smoke, grill or bake with the turn of a button. I have a RecTec 590. Traegers are great also.

I hope you all are staying well and having a good start to Fall. As always, thanks so much for stopping by. Wishing you blessings now and the rest of 2020!!!
