If you are looking for a new way to add volume to your hair, you might want to watch as my hair stylist demonstrates the Voloom hair crimping tool.
My hair stylist Kim (owner of Hair By Kim) was styling my daughter’s hair recently and started using a tool that I’d never seen before~a Voloom crimper. She told me that it was a new tool that she had just started using. When I asked her to do a short video about it (for the blog) she sweetly agreed!
How does Voloom work? The full details can be found on voloom.com, but basically the secret is in the patented ceramic plates shaped to create crimps or “volume pockets†in select areas of the hair. It is much easier to understand visually, so the video below is super helpful.
Many of us tease the hair at the crown (myself included) to give it a bit of lift. I think this is all that is needed for just a smidge of lift, but for those who want volume all over, the Voloom is definitely better than teasing.
My daughter Emma loved the volume that the Voloom gave her hair, and she actually asked me to buy her one. Since she has shorter hair, I bought this Bed Head Little Tease. It is less expensive than the small Voloom; I’ll let you know how it works.
The Voloom is the most popular brand of crimping tool on the market, but there are a few other brands that I link to below.
I’d love to hear from any of you who use this or another crimping iron. Do you love it? Does it work? Please join the conversation:-) As always, thanks so much for stopping by. Wishing you a joyful, blessed & savvy day!
