This DIY bathroom spray is called “Poo-de-Toilette and is the BEST toilet spray you can make or buy! 

Many of you are familiar with Poo-Pourri, the bathroom spray which has become very popular over the last several years. While I have used Poo-Pourri, I found myself wishing the spray had a different scent! Therefore, I decided to create my own toilet spray using my all-time favorite essential oil, Thymes Fraiser Fir. After discovering how much better (and more affordable!) the homemade version is, I have never looked back! 

How Does Poo-de-Toilette Work? 

Poo-de-Toilette is different than a typical bathroom spray because you spray it into the toilet before using the bathroom rather than into the air after. Additionally, it creates a film over the toilet water, so any odors under the surface are trapped. It is much more effective at preventing any bathroom odors! 

How Do You Make DIY Poo-de-Toilette? 

Making this homemade spray could not be simpler! Simply combine water, rubbing alcohol, unscented liquid Castille soap, and your favorite essential oil. Poo-Pourri’s scent is made up of bergamot essential oil, lemongrass essential oil, and orange essential oil. However, feel free to use whichever essential oil you love the best! Thyme’s Fraiser Fir is one of my favorite fresh scents, so I always use this. 

Will Poo-de-Toilette Clog My Toilet? 

Because Poo-de-Toilette is made with just water, rubbing alcohol, caster soap, and essential oil, it will not clog your plumbing or leave any residue! In fact, because these ingredients are in many cleaning products, it will leave your toilet bowl a little fresher than before! 

Tools You Need to Make Thymes Poo-de-Toilette

Below are all the tools I use to make my own Thymes poo-de-toilette. I use the refresher oil not only to make poo-de-toilette but also to put in a diffuser or even add to a bowl of sudsy water to clean the countertops after cooking. The oil makes the house smell just like a Frazier fir!!!

How to Make Poo-de-Toilette

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

This DIY Poo-de-Toilette bathroom spray will have your bathrooms smelling so fresh! With only four ingredients, you will never buy the store-bought version again!

Materials

• 1/2- 1 cup water (depending upon bottle size)
• 1 TB rubbing alcohol (isopropyl 70% or 91)
• 1 tsp Castille liquid soap (unscented)
• 30 drops Thymes frasier fir oil (or favorite)

Tools

• Bottle with spray attachment (4 -8 oz).
• Funnel.
• Label for bottle.

Instructions

1. Pour water into a glass or plastic bottle (use a funnel).
2. Add alcohol and Castille soap.
3. Add fragrance oil drops (adjust to desired strength).
4. Shake well. Label bottle.
