I’m sharing this “updated for 2017” list of shoes that are cute AND comfy for tender footed gals like me who want to walk in style without sacrificing comfort.
Update: This post is an updated list of shoes that are cute AND comfy (along with a few old faithfuls that are still in style and selling in stores this season).
Where shoes are concerned, I don’t fall into the “beauty is pain” camp. I refuse to pay for something that makes my feet hurt or that I can only wear for an hour or two. Since I am always on the lookout for shoes that are cute AND comfy, I love sharing my finds with other tender footed friends:-)
The folllowing list is comprised of shoes that I love and personally find not only stylish but also super comfy. For those who don’t live near retailers with these brands, some can be purchased on amazon through 3rd party sellers.
On.This brand is my newest cute & comfy shoe fave. I have the On Women’s Cloud Sneaker I. Love. This. Shoe. I wear this all day on most days, and they actually pamper my feet. They are soft, lightweight, and adorable. The soles literally feel like tiny clouds. The On cloud is $120.
Note: I wear mine as shown (slip on), but each pair comes with laces that can be used for those who want to lace up completely. These also come in men’s. #fathersdayisaroundthebend
Ilse Jacobsen Tulip. I SOOOOO wanted to be able to jump on the slip-on fashion sneaker bandwagon, but my feet wouldn’t have it. I tried on every brand~from Vince to Frye to J Slides (all which are comfy to many women and have good reviews). But then I stumbled upon this sneaker in Gus Mayer. #score #cuteandcomfy #goodpricepointtoboot
Made in Denmark, Tulip is a lightweight “travel” sneaker with scalloped edges. It runs small, so order up. I wanted the grey, but Gus only had black and latte. I was thrilled to find them here on amazon. Price point: $75ish
Gentle Souls. This cute & comfy fave has held its place in the lineup and is still on shoe tables at Gus Mayer. In fact two of the sales clerks had the Joy wedge on when I was there last week. Price point: $200ish
This “Joy” platform wedge was my fave shoe of 2016 and it is still on trend for 2017. I have it in navy, black and taupe and have worn both pairs for almost every occasion~church, parties, sporting events, etc…..They go from casual to dressy and complement almost any outfilt you can imagine. More info can be found at KennethColeFootwear.com.
Antelope. This brand has been wildly popular for years. It is easily recognizable by mostly fabric covered platforms with straps extending over most of the wedge. These shoes are again a higher price but can often be found on sale. Price point: $180-$200
Antelope shoes come in several styles, but the strappy wedges are the most popular. The 847 is one of my faves; it goes with literally every summer outfit.
OTBT (Off the Beaten Track) shoes are designed for comfort and durablity with high quality materials and very sturdy soles. The styles often have cute & trendy touches such as an animal print strap or a metallic leather. These shoes have almost a cult following amongst college girls, as they complement almost any outfit, from dresses to shorts to jeans. Price point: average $120
Note: I personally don’t find OTBT as comfortable as the other brands, and the back strap on the Brookfield wedge slips off my heel when I walk. However, I am in the minority, as most women love this particular wedge and think it is supremely comfy (my daughters included). Again, this shoe was on display last week when I went shoe shopping, so its popularity is still going strong.
Naked Feet. I first spotted this Naked Feet BardII at Gus Mayer in Birmingham more than a year ago and purchased it in black. They were so comfy and went so well with myriad outfits that I went back to Gus to buy the grey. They no longer had my size in the grey, so I found them online at musthaveshoes.com.
The raw edge of the leather on this particular style gives the shoes a fun, edgy look. The grey leather is unique, having a soft, almost metallic silver sheen. The black ones are suede and a bit dressier and more versatile.
These shoes are super comfortable, and I can walk in them all day. These go great with leggings, shorts and jeans. I’ve been wearing these since the Easter, and they still look brand new. More info on this brand and shop for current styles at nakedfeetshoes.com. Price point: $150ish.
So there you have it……my favorite brands of shoes that are as comfy as they are cute. I hope this helps those of you who struggle finding shoes that look AND feel good on your feet.
