Even a simple pleasure like Rice Krispy treats can go from good to great with just a few tweaks. The original “back of the cereal box” recipe is o.k, but it isn’t anything to write home about.
This version of Rice Krispy treats is different. It is the bomb. It takes rice krispy treats to a whole new level.
The secret? WAY more butter. A double dose of marshmallows. Vanilla extract. And sprinkles. Sprinkles make everything better.
The end result? Buttery, rich, marshmallowy sweet, soft & crunchy squares of goodness. Actually, they remind me of the tallest, loftiest sugar cookie ever.
I keep the ingredients for these Rice Krispy treats on hand at all times so that I am always able to throw these together when a fun and yummy treat is in order.
Savvy Tips: Line your 11 x 13 dish with parchment paper before spreading the mixture. Put in freezer for about 30 minutes to harden. Lift parchment to remove the entire pan in one piece. Cut into squares.
