It happens all the time. A husband or wife drops the bombshell, “I’m leaving; there is someone else.” Or, he or she gets “caught” in an affair before declaring love for a newfound “soul mate.” We saw the latter scenario play out on national television years ago when a sniffling South Carolina Governor laced his “apology” for infidelity with a declaration of love for his “soul mate.”
One of the most challenging scenarios in marriage ministry is trying to reason with someone involved in the beginning stages of an affair, as he or she is most likely acting against all spiritual, relational, and logical principles that he or she once valued. Attempting to reason with such a person~whether with scripture, common sense, or emotional appeal~will most likely fail
Joe Beam’s many years of research and counseling with crisis marriages has given him great insight into what is happening in the minds of those who throw all sense aside when caught up in the drama of an affair. The phenomenon is called limerance, and an understanding of limerance helps those on the outside looking in to better understand the irrational and destructive behavior of someone caught up in an affair….
This is the third of a series of posts by Dr. Jo Herzog, who is educating us on several injectables, specifically those she demonstrated on my face during a recent Lunch & Learn event with Medicis.
Today, she will talk about restylane and perlane, specifically how and where she used them on me, how much she used, and the cost of each. This will help those who might be considering these procedures one day but have no idea what is involved….
Twenty-four years ago, my husband Zane and I, newly married, had a “the honeymoon is definitely over” argument. Zane, embarrassed that I was not eating the hamburger served at a friend’s house (after church, no less) because it was pink in the middle, gently kicked my foot under the table and mouthed, “eat the hamburger.” Not only did I not eat the hamburger, but I flew into a ridiculous tantrum afterwards that to this day we still call the “hamburger incident.”
This insane conflict so early in our marriage was a wake up call. If the “hamburger incident” caused such discord between us, what would happen when real trouble came our way? How would Zane and I answer God if He asked us the same question He asked Jeremiah?…
Dr. Herzog is continuing her discussion of the procedures done during a recent “Lunch and Learn” even at her office. Today, she will talk primarily about dysport and the other popular toxin, botox.
Dr. Jo Herzog, M.D.
Last week, we began discussing Jamie’s experience with three Medicis injectables that we demonstrated at a recent “Lunch & Learn” event. I used Jamie’s experience to show how I evaluate all my patients and discuss their needs and options with them….
Zane and I share a passion for helping marriages. Through years of having availed ourselves of myriad marriage resources, we now have an arsenal of those that we consider “the best of the best.” Although The Holy Bible is the standard through which any resource we use must be filtered, we are thankful that many of God’s servants have developed practical how-to’s that address very specific situations that arise in many marriages….
Last Tuesday, I shared my experience with injectables and fillers from a recent event held at Dr. Jo Herzog’s office. I shared my perspective on the pain, overall difference made, and degree of satisfaction of each procedure. Today, Dr. Herzog will speak to the process from a doctor’s perspective. She will use my experience to show how she works with her patients to achieve the results they want. Finally, she will tell her opinion of which procedures made the most noticeable improvement on my face.
