Kysse injectable lip filler

How I feel about lip injections.

How do you feel about lip injections? I was never concerned about them either way until my lips began getting thinner as I entered midlife.  I tried every trick in the book to make them look fuller with the “nude lip,” lip plumping gloss, and other products. Some of these worked for a while, but after I turned 50, none of these did much if anything at all. So, I turned to my dermatologist for advice, and she educated me about my options, the main one being injectable filler. I have been using small amounts of filler in my lips for about five years now and am very pleased with the results.

Dr. Herzog Answers Questions about Kysse

On my last visit to Dr. Jo Herzog’s office, she shared info with me about a new lip filler~Kysse. I asked her to answer the following questions so that I could share the information with you all. The questions and answers are below.

What is Restylane Kysse?

Restylane Kysse is a new HA-based filler designed to treat the lips and surrounding areas. It is designed to be soft while still holding its shape. It is almost a crossbreed between Refyne and Defyne.

How does Kysse work?

Restylane Kysse does a beautiful job of plumping lips as well as filling lines around and building up areas that support the lips. The results are smooth, soft, and natural. In my experience so far, a small amount seems to go a long way.

How is Kysse different from Defyne and Refyne?

Refyne is a medium-lift filler. It is designed to be injected at a  more superficial depth (in the dermis)  for correction of wrinkles and creases not deep enough to require Defyne. Defyne has heavier lifting power and can correct deeper creases. Kysse seems to be somewhat a hybrid. It can add volume, give lift, and smooth out fine creases. It also has a special very thin needle that has a wider opening for its size. This makes injections smoother and more comfortable.

How long do the results last?

The results from Kysse should last around the same time as Restylane Refyne and Defyne.  Depending upon how someone metabolizes the filler, it should last between 6-12 months.

How much are lip injections with Restylane Kysse?

The cost is similar to other lip fillers, at least for now. I am currently charging $650 for 1cc syringe. For some patients, one syringe is enough.  One syringe of this filler seems to go further than some of the others.

My review of Kysse Injectable Filler

I decided to try Kysse, as it had just hit the market when I went for an appointment with Dr. Herzog. Dr. Jo used one vial of kysse for my lips, the tiny creases above them, and the marionette lines around my mouth. Below is a before and after showing the difference. The photos are not professional; I took them at home with my camera. Still, I think they do a good job of showing the difference Kysse made in my lips.

Kysse Lip Filler Before After

Overall, I was very pleased with the results. Kysse is soft, and the amount Dr. Jo used was just enough to give me the results I wanted. I give this filler a 10/10 and will definitely use it again.

If you have any questions about my experience, feel free to ask in the comments below. If you have questions for Dr. Jo, submit those as well, and I will get her to answer. As always, thanks so much for stopping by. Be blessed, and stay savvy!!!
